Rise

Support

Rise needs no account and keeps everything on your phone. Most answers are below. For anything else, email support@riseagainapp.com.

If you’re in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US) or go to your nearest emergency room. Rise is a companion, not emergency care.

Common questions

Where is my data?

Only on your phone, in the app’s own storage. There’s no account and no copy anywhere else, so nobody else can see it, including us.

How do I move to a new phone?

Make a backup first: open Rise, tap the person icon on Today, then Make a backup. Choose a passphrase and save the file to Files or iCloud Drive. On the new phone, install Rise, go to the same place, tap Restore, pick the file, and enter the passphrase. Restoring adds your history; it never erases anything.

I forgot my backup passphrase.

We can’t recover it. That’s what keeps the file private: without the passphrase, no one can open it. Your history is still safe on your current phone; make a new backup with a new passphrase.

Reminders don’t arrive.

Tap the person icon on Today and check that the reminder is on and the time is right. Then check that notifications are allowed for Rise in your phone’s Settings → Notifications.

“Tell my allies” doesn’t send anything.

It opens your Messages app with the text ready. Nothing is sent until you tap Send. Allies are added on the Today screen.

Can my allies see what I log?

No. They only ever get the short “I’m being tempted” text, and only when you send it yourself.

A friend shared a memory folder with me.

Open Rise, go to the Armory, tap join a friend, and paste their whole message.
